Job Summary: The Journeyman Plumber responsibilities will include but are not limited to installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential plumbing systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout and installation of plumbing systems.
- Operates reamers, threading dies, pipe cutters, drain snakes, and other plumbing equipment and hand tools.
- Cut, thread, & install various types of pipe; cast, PVC, CPVC, PEX, copper
- Inspects joints, valves, pumps, boilers, heaters, sinks, commodes, tanks, and other plumbing system components to locate malfunctions and repairs or replaces as necessary.
- Maintains accurate records on material and labor used.
- Inspects jobs upon completion and ensures areas are clean.
Education and Experience:
- Journeyman plumber’s license in MA and/or RI (required)
- 5 years of residential and/or commercial plumbing experience (required)
- OSHA 10 card (required)
- Additional experience and/or license in pipefitting (preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and coordinate work with other sub-trades (preferred)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper
- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements

Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate hand and power-driven tools and equipment commonly used in the plumbing field.
