Position Title:
Electrical Engineer – Oilfield Power Generation / Power Delivery Mobile Equipment
Position Summary:
Position will be responsible for all electrical, electrical instrumentation and some controls activities related to the specification/design, manufacturing and post delivery technical office and field support of equipment primarily used in oil production operations in North America with a focus on mobile gas turbine driven electrical generator units and high performance pumping/fracturing units. Position is approximately 10% travel outside the Houston area.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
Will include, but not limited to:
1. Prepare technical proposals including developing / compiling project specifications and preliminary system configurations
2. Select components, such as cables, cable trays, motors, relays, PLC/DCS system, sensors, etc.
3. Develop system designs, drawings / drawing and other documents for packages for electrical configurations utilizing with generators (predominantly 2 pole Brush Electrical Machines), Medium and Low Voltage (MV / LV) systems (15 kV / 480 VAC / 120 VAC / 24 VDC and communications cabling), PLC / DCS control systems, VFD motors and drives, power distribution and support trailers including electrical interconnection, Detronics fire protection (FP), PLC based electric turbine starter system, power electric components including MCCs, battery chargers, switchgear and supporting components
4. PLC / DCS programming and HMI interface design facilitation
5. Monitor unit fabrication and coordinate/facilitate with company engineering/technical resources
6. Commissioning and field delivery
7. Equipment performance and condition assessments
8. Technical support / facilitation of off-site equipment maintenance such as generator inspections, power equipment (AVR, battery charger, etc.), unit shop inspections/servicing/upgrades and equipment reconditioning
9. Perform safety assessment for company equipment and site conditions affecting company equipment
10. Interfacing with client and company technical resources for equipment definition, design, fabrication, testing and operational and maintenance needs
11. Development of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Maintenance Programs, spare parts lists and other unit documentation development
12. Miscellaneous site support for unit positioning, operation and maintenance as needed
13. Coordinate engineering with other disciplines and stake holder organizations
Position Requirements:
1. Safety focused job execution and hazard identification – REQUIRED
2. Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution – Bachelor’s of Science preferred, but Engineering Technical considered with advanced experience level (thermal control design of power plants in large domestic power design institutes is preferred)
3. 10+ years of equivalent posting listed requirement experience (electric power generator, or equivalent, engineering, operations and or electrical maintenance experience) – gas turbine generator experience highly preferred
4. Familiar with performance parameters / industry standards, etc. for the North American power, industrial or oil field operations
5. Engineering of standard power generation or oil production supervisory or control instrumentation / devices including protective relays, voltage/current regulation, power transformer, digital pressure, temperature and vibration sensors and supporting electronics.
6. Electrical packaging skills such as junction boxes, wiring, terminations, “Class” construction methods, grounding, etc.
7. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in written English – REQUIRED
8. Requires strong communication and teamwork skills in multi-lingual /multi-cultural engineering, fabrication, operations and client environments
9. Use of discipline related technical software such as CAD (AutoDesk, Siemens, Microstation, etc.), Simulation software (ETAP, etc.) and others
10. Ability to coordinate and communicate with client and company technical, management, maintenance and operations staff; frequently under high pressure conditions
11. Work as a self-directed individual or team member when remote and with company / customer teams in the benefit of the assignment
12. Ability to work outside in extreme heat and cold remote climates
13. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs on level and inclined grades/stairs
14. Ability to climb, squat, reach overhead, grasp and use hand and common shop tools
15. Competency in using productivity software including Microsoft Office, or similar, suite including word processing, spreadsheet and electronic mail programs, video conferencing, etc.
16. Current unrestricted driver’s license
17. Ability to travel at least in North America including international travel to Canada and Mexico, there may be extended travel requirements
18. Must be authorized to work in the United States

Working Environment:
Typical assignments will be as a technical resource working 8 hour days Monday-Friday at Houston area Jereh facilities. However, position will likely include periodic shifts at customer oil field production sites in North America with outdoor exposure, but subject to covered and uncovered work areas in and around the mobile gas turbine generator / fracturing equipment. Area will be subject to extreme heat and cold as well as other significant weather conditions such as rain, hail, snow, sleet, etc. Hazards include, but are not limited to highly compressed flammable and hazardous gasses, crude and refined oils, glycol anti-freezes, low and medium electrical power, rotating equipment, arc flash, dust, pollen, dirt, pinching and other mechanical hazards. Occasional assignments will be at Jereh or authorized contractor sites for equipment fabrication, maintenance or servicing.
