JOB TITLE: Transportation Coordinator (Part-time)

Transportation Coordinator (Part-time) : Wilson Rides is a 501c3 non-profit organization seeking a high energy, detailed-oriented and adaptive Transportation Coordinator (Part-Time) for the Wilson Rides program. The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for the operational success of Wilson Rides ensuring program delivery, quality control and evaluation. The position will manage volunteer drivers and report directly to the Executive Director.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Manage the complex logistics of providing transportation for our older adult members, and to ensure driver capacity by assisting in recruiting, training, supporting volunteers, and managing contract drivers. In addition, the Transportation Coordinator may be assigned special tasks by the Executive Director or the Board of Directors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation
- Solve the ever-changing puzzle of matching ride requests with volunteers, contract drivers, ensuring ride requests are fulfilled each day
- Maintains systems, policies and records related to the call center and ride service while utilizing the ride scheduling software, Assisted Rides
- Runs monthly reports to maximize efficiency and maintain quality control
- Manages services adhering to program policies and funding levels
- Provides rider services, outreach, and follow-up including all required assessments and program evaluations
- Ensure that files, database records and reports are complete, accurate, current and secured according to HIPAA policies
- Submits to Executive Director required data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports and other information necessary to inform funders, participants and the community in a timely manner
- Participates in program development, strategic planning and fundraising activities
- Treats all with respect and adheres to Wilson Rides policies concerning Title VI and HIPAA
- Handles emergency calls from volunteer drivers and riders
- Provides back-up rides to seniors as needed
- Refer passengers in need of further assistance to other local organizations using a WR resource list
- Attend relevant seminars and training programs to maintain knowledge of older adult service programs and support service delivery systems
- Assist in expanding ridership through outreach, publicity, and developing new ride opportunities
- Occasional attendance at BOD meetings
- Back-up the Executive Director as needed, answering phone calls and following protocol for arranging rides, including accurate data entry
Volunteer Recruitment & Support
- Assist in executing a multi-step volunteer application and onboarding process
- Communicate regularly and promptly with all volunteers
- Assist in scheduling and preparing materials for monthly volunteer trainings
- Assist Executive Director in executing volunteer recognition plan for current volunteers
- Monitor volunteer participation and ensure compliance with WR policies
- Assist in administering annual volunteer survey
- Assist in executing volunteer recruitment plan and maintaining accurate records to maximize volunteer program growth
- Build awareness of WR volunteer opportunities
- Support and enhance the diversification of the WR volunteer base
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Confidence and comfort level meeting older adults and others
- Excellent verbal and written skills across all platforms of communication
- Experience in leading group training sessions is a plus

REQUIREMENTS
- A degree from an accredited college or university, or comparable experience, is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of related full-time work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience working with older adults and/or volunteers preferred
- Experience in providing social services, volunteer coordination and nonprofit program management highly desirable
- Experience working in a call center or handling phone calls in a busy office environment desired
- Must have a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, pass criminal and driver background screenings, and minimum amount of insurance required by WR General Liability Policy
- Passion for service and compassion for seniors
