A Lead Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment.
The Goddard School® of Canton, MI, an early childhood education center, is currently seeking qualified Lead Teachers.
The Goddard School® is a renowned program with a Piaget (Learning through Play) based foundation and a leader in the franchised preschool industry which is growing and continues to set the standard for excellence. REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid CDA or an Associates in Early Childhood Education or related field, or credits within the early childhood field.
- Prior classroom experience in one of the following - Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Successful completion of a background check
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing lesson plans
- Meeting the individual's needs of the children
- Parent communication
- Participation in staff and training meetings
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Building teamwork
- Using assessment tools
- Committing to continuing education
Lead Teachers are responsible for insuring compliance with Goddard's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Lead Teachers implement their own lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!
The Goddard School offers competitive compensation and benefits based on experience, education, and certifications.
At the end of each day a professional cleaning staff cleans the entire school including classrooms. After all children have left the classroom for the day, teachers are responsible for spraying a Clorox/water solution throughout the classroom.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
