- The older 5's/ kindergarten room has 10 children regularly enrolled with 1 teacher and a floater to help.
- The 4-5's room has 17-20 children with 3 teachers.
- The 3-4's room has 17-20 children with 3 teachers.
- The twos classroom has 14 children and 3 teachers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating an engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children.
- Supervises and facilitates activities that promote a constructivist, play-based approach in learning.
- Prepares classroom materials in advance of the children’s arrival.
- Day-to-day classroom management.
- Plan and implement activities and opportunities that encourage children’s curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving.
- Provide children with age-appropriate activities that stimulate physical, intellectual, and social development.
- Adapt teaching methods and curriculum to meet the individual needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles of all children.
- Provide and maintain a supportive classroom environment.
- Maintain open and cooperative communication with parents and coworkers.
- Complete classroom observations and conduct parent/ teacher conferences.
- Log observation data into Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Operate in alignment with our company's mission and vision
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/ Child Development or related
- Early Childhood Professional Educator License (PEL); or
- Gateways Level 5 ECE Credential with written documentation to earn PEL by 2024.
- Working knowledge of Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Experience managing a classroom of diverse learners
- Knowledge of Illinois Early Learning Standards and application to day to day teaching
