Job description
The Program Supervisor of River Academy is responsible to the Director of River Academy for assisting in the direction and coordination of the Day Treatment Program. These responsibilities include interviewing, training, and scheduling of teacher/counselors; assisting with program and curriculum development; and serving as a member of the student’s Multi-disciplinary Team.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree and a current Tennessee Special Education Certificate preferred.
- Must be qualified to administer academic achievement and behavioral assessments.
- Must have the physical health and capacity to have regular job attendance, to teach, to be actively involved in physical activities with children, and to physically manage aggressive or self-injurious behaviors.
- Successfully complete TCI, CPR, Blood-Borne Pathogen, First Aid Training, & Suicide Awareness/Prevention Training and update as policy states.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills as well as good telephone skills.
- Must be able to supervise personnel.
- The Program Supervisor position involves a risk of exposure to communicable diseases; therefore, the employee must be familiar with/and practice Universal Health Precautions.
- Must be proficient in computer systems operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and D-Base).
- Must obtain thirty-two hours of in-service credit annually.
- Must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients.
- Must subscribe to the agency’s Mission Statement and Organizational Values.
- Must be able to actively assist in physical management of clients exhibiting self-injurious or aggressive behavior.
