ABOUT US:
We are a small family office specializing in real estate investment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Property Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting and financial management, with the ability to oversee all aspects of property accounting and financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepare monthly journal entries, financial statements preparation, bank reconciliations, and workpapers
· Monitor cash receipts, review and bill tenant recurring charges and billing adjustments and perform tenant ledger reconciliations
· Process invoices, verify for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval, and maintain vendor accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
· Prepare and process outgoing payments via wire, ACH transfers, and checks
· Record daily bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, in the accounting system
· Perform and review bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and optimizing cash flow management
· Perform year-end reconciliations on tenant charges such as CAM, percentage rent increases, insurance, utilities, and real estate taxes
· Provide support in gathering information for the quarterly and annual financial reports.
· Coordinate the creation of comprehensive financial packets for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
· Review invoice coding and approvals and ensure proper audit trail is in place
· Lead the accurate entry and management of financial data, ensuring integrity in reporting and compliance with financial policies.
· Analyze financial data to identify errors and trends, forecast future needs
· Additional ad-hoc projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting or property management accounting
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property valuation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, particularly advanced skills in Excel
- Experience with some combination of Real Estate specific software specifically Yardi or MRI preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
