Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Rate: $65-75 per hour + PD
Duration: Open Ended Contract
Responsibilities will include providing verification of the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant Equipment and Systems and as well as the construction of the entire facility with respect to mechanical and process related engineering/design activities. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, this position will support the development of mechanical systems and equipment by reviewing the Engineer of Record (EOR) prepared engineering deliverables including: studies, calculations, piping and instrumentation diagrams, heat & mass balance diagrams, calculations, engineering specifications, data sheets, piping isometrics, material requisitions, and more in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
Required Education and Experience
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with six (15) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of a degree, twenty (20) years of progressive related experience
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical discipline project design engineering experience in power and/or utility stations.
- Related experience must include, but is not limited to, experience in Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification and design development for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities
- Familiar with the selection and technical requirements of general mechanical equipment including Gas Turbine, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Steam Turbine, Heat exchangers, Water Treatment Systems, Rotating Machinery, etc.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
- Extensive knowledge and application of ANSI/ASME Codes and Standards including ASME B31.1 or B31.3
Other Preferred Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of project experience for projects in excess of $250mUSD • Knowledge of 3D CAD software and AutoCAD preferred.
- Engineering/Construction exposure in multiple disciplines
