Under general supervision, receives and processes requests for law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire, dispatching same to appropriate personnel for response to requests, ensuring calls are handled in a professional and timely manner. Acquires and maintains 911 Operator certification. Works under time sensitive, stressful conditions.
Must have High School diploma or equivalent and be at least 21 years of age; One to two years of experience preferred; Communications School Certification and NCIC Certification preferred.
Must be physically able to operate video equipment, an alarm panel and a variety of automated office machines which includes a typewriter, computer, calculator, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to eighty pounds.
