- The Physician Assistant provides urologic care through the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients. Work under the direction of the supervising Urologists and other members of the healthcare team in a collaborative effort to provide optimal patient care. Huntington Urology Specialists is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for its staff and providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to work independently, set goals and objectives, prioritize work activities
- Evaluate patient by reviewing medical history and performing an appropriate physical exam in a medical office setting
- Interpret and evaluate patient data as authorized by physician for the purpose of determining management and treatment of patients. Consult with physician as appropriate.
- Prescribe, recommend, and regulate appropriate pharmacologic medication
- Respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner and provide patient education
- Maintain current knowledge regarding options for urologic care and outcomes
- Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requested
- Provide inpatient consultation and treatment for hospitalized patients at the direction of the supervising physician
Skills:
- Communicates clearly and in a supportive manner with patients regarding condition, prognosis, health needs, and available services
- Knowledge of EMR systems
Experience and Education:
- Current PA-C license
- Current DEA license
- New grads welcome but 2-5 years’ experience preferred
Work Environment:
- Monday through Friday clinic hours
- Major holidays observed
- Position is in a single specialty urology private practice
