Position Summary:
Assist the organization in providing superior Customer Service by executing service orders for associated field activities. Responsibilities include field investigations, customer complaint resolution, meter reading, and activation and deactivation of water utility meters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates with customer to resolve complaints/inquiries and/or directs complaints/inquiries to appropriate internal department.
- Responsible for follow-up and closure of all service orders.
- Collects water samples for analysis in laboratory. Some on-site analysis may be required.
- Troubleshoots high water usage problems and suggests water conservation ideas to prevent future complaints.
- Updates files and reports to ensure accurate account information.
- Disconnects and reconnects services within time performance standards.
- Reads residential and business water meters on a regular schedule and for verification of high, low or missed readings.
- Records and reports meter registration, defects, and conditions.
- Installs hydrant and commercial irrigation meters.
- Performs basic maintenance on meters that includes testing, leak repairs and water pressure monitoring.
- Assists Operations as available to support the completion of all regional duties.
Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arizona drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts based on work load and customer demand.
- Must be able to work outside 98% of the daily work schedule.
- Knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures within the water industry.
- Ability to complete specialized training related to water quality and compliance.
- Must be able to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.
- Effective communicator, written and verbal, demonstrating the ability to work with customers to resolve conflicts and issues.
- Possess basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work under immediate supervision.
- Ability to use a computerized work order system.
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to work in a fast paced, highly confidential environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as balance multiple priorities.
Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License and have a clean driving record. This position requires you to drive a company vehicle without any restrictions.
