Title: Assistant Dining Room Supervisor

Basic Philosophy
The Assistant Supervisor must have a sincere desire to serve older adults in a quality care setting and must strive to provide excellence and consistency in the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
· Supervise dining room wait staff and utility staff as needed.
· Train new staff as assigned by supervisor.
· Prepare nightly resident attendance report and give it to the Courtesy desk.
· Assist with interviewing new hires.
· Assist in replacing staff when there is a call out for shift.
· Monitor wait staff and utility side work for set up of meal and monitor closing duties of staff.
· Fruit & Salad prep when working in this capacity.
· Prepare daily menus for the following day.
· Set up dessert trays.
· Manage table reservations and guest meals.
· Aid in any and all section duties, as necessary.
· Be part of an inclement weather team.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Ability to read, write, and count menus, salads, desserts etc. Save serve certificate preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
Leadership- must be able to provide instruction to the wait staff and utility staff as needed.
Planning and Organizing- must be able to prepare reports, manage table reservations and prepare daily menus.
Service- must be able to assist in creating an atmosphere of hospitality and efficiency for the Residents.
Teamwork- must be willing to take on duties outside the job description in order to ensure services are timely delivered to Residents.
Experience and Training
Previous food service experience desired. Training will be provided for all required functions. Should be honest, possess good judgment, tact, compassion, and integrity.

Certain physical demands must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 feet. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency. Work areas may be subject to noise, distractions and interruptions.
