Medical Admin
Seeking a qualified and efficient medical administrative to perform operational processes including scheduling appointments and procedure posting. Must present a warm, pleasant, and welcoming demeanor to patients at all times. Act as a “Practice Representative” and a “Public Relations” person, maintaining a smooth-running communication base among the patients and medical providers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Warm and friendly demeanor
- Graduation from accredited high school. Minimum of two years medical office experience
- Possesses the verbal ability to understand patient medical records, Provider orders, and to communicate with the patients
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, other staff members, and the Medical team
- Demonstrates excellent computer skills – EMR and computerized scheduling software and desire to continue development of these skills
- Knowledge of medical practice and medical terminology; above average typing skills
- Participates in ongoing continuing education as related to position
- Work schedule: Monday 7a-7p
Tuesday 8a-4p
Wednesday 7a-7p
Thursday 8a-4p
Friday 8a-12p
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Answers all incoming calls, directs telephone traffic.
- Schedules appointments based on patients’ needs and providers guidance.
- Answers patient questions and gives information within the limits of his or her knowledge.
- Obtains authorization from insurance providers to perform procedures for reimbursement.
- Tasks messages if necessary to nurse practitioner/PA, medical assistant, or physician obtaining as much information as possible.
- Assists walk in patients.
- Requests, sends, imports and files documents and faxed reports as necessary.
- Returns patient calls - the same day.
- Retrieves authorizations from insurance companies.
- Attends staff meetings and participates in quality improvement activities.
- Works as an MA as needed – including vital signs, entering PIF, importing - entering medications.
