Role Summary: Resurrection is looking for a full-time Stream Coordinator and Makerspace Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The STREAM Coordinator and Makerspace Teacher will develop the curriculum for the Makerspace classes, as well as aid in establishing yearly STREAM goals and outcomes for each grade level. The person in this role will work with the STREAM Director and help classroom teachers create project-based learning units and coach them in implementing the units in their classrooms. This person will take a role of leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and guide implementation of Project-Based Learning units in the K-8 Classrooms
- Create and implement STREAM lessons and units K-8 in Makerspace
- Day-to-day implementation of STREAM lesson plans and Makerspace projects
- Compiling data and evidence of projects and learning to build portfolio for future STEM accreditation
- Aid in creating yearly goals (desired skill sets/outcomes) for each grade level for Resurrection’s Makerspace/STREAM program
- Aid in facilitating STEM field trips and additional learning opportunities for students (i.e. STEM competitions, Maker and Inventions Fairs, etc.)
- Be an active member of the Brown Family Foundation STREAM Cohort and the Resurrection STREAM committee, which includes attending meetings and collaborating with other members to grow Resurrection’s STREAM program
- Optimize usage of the STREAM Lab by all teachers and students
- Oversee the planning for summer STREAM programs that will be implemented by other school personnel
Desired Skills
- Adaptability to teach students Kindergarten through 8th grade, including effective classroom management skills in each level
- Experience with teaching using the Engineering Design Process
- Openness to collaboration with community partnerships and peers
- Desire to take an active leadership role in the school community
- Well-versed in STREAM education, PBL education and inquiry-based learning
