Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at our Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville location. This is a Full-time Days position. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, and it is self-scheduled based on department needs and will require a 40-minute call response time. This role qualifies for competitive differentials and additional call compensation.
As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, your daily responsibilities will include monitoring post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia. This position also requires treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication a prescribed. To ensure a smooth recovery, an RN in this position will also regularly check vital signs to quickly interrupt any potential issues. Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care as well as updating charts, patient files, and medical records will be an important aspect of this role.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU your responsibilities will include:

Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement organization.

Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.

Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.

Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care

Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.

This position requires call rotation.
