Job purpose
This position will work closely with project team to manage all phases of construction projects from bidding through contract closeout.
Duties and responsibilities
- Meet with customers or owners, review plans and specifications, and visit project sites to analyze the scope of work
- Manage construction projects after successful bid. Responsibilities may include:
1. Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders
2. Work with superintendents to update schedules
3. Process shop drawings and submittals
4. Coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries
5. Attend job meetings and serve as company representative
6. Assist with inspections and other duties necessary for compliance with SWPPP
7. Monitor job costs to ensure work is completed within budget
8. Process change orders and prepare, or review pay applications
9. Communicate with project owner or owner’s representative
10.Work with customer or owner to closeout contracts upon completion of project
- Assist with layout and set-up for automated control of equipment used on projects
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Market research and analysis including monitoring bid advertisements, plan exchanges, and other sources for bid opportunities
- All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations
Qualifications
- Three (3) years minimum Project Management/Superintendent experience desired
- Previous experience in grading and paving construction activities is preferred
- Working knowledge of underground, pavement marking, traffic control, electrical, seeding, etc.
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project(some experience preferred but not required)
- Valid Driver’s License is required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
Working conditions
- Indoor/Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
- Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises
Physical requirements
- Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments
- Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
