JOB SUMMARY:
Receiver manages the receiving and inventory process for the restaurant. Receiver is responsible for inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities and quality of goods, and accurately recording inventory transactions. Your meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills will contribute to the efficient functioning of Zuma’s kitchen and support our commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Receive incoming deliveries of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders

Inspect deliveries for quality, freshness, and adherence to specifications, rejecting any items that do not meet standards

Verify quantities, weights, and measurements of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips, resolving any discrepancies with vendors as needed

Record and document inventory transactions, including receipt, storage, transfer, and disposal of goods, using electronic inventory management systems

Label and store received items in designated storage areas, following proper food safety and sanitation guidelines

Monitor inventory levels and stock availability, notifying management of shortages, overages, or damaged items

Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and audits to reconcile inventory records with actual stock on hand

Maintain the cleanliness and organization in the receiving area, including storage shelves, bins, and refrigerators

Ensure all the products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out)

Operate ethically to protect the image of the company

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Previous experience in a receiving or inventory management role in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including HACCP principles

Familiarity with inventory management software or electronic systems for recording and tracking inventory

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying quantities, weights, and specifications of received goods

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move heavy boxes and equipment as needed

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly

Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
