About Houston-Galveston Area Council

What will I be doing?
Facilities Management:
ü Negotiate, develop, and prepare leases, permits, contracts, and other property agreements
ü Manage liability, property, workers' compensation, and cyber security insurance policies, file all claims and negotiate rate changes
ü Manage facility improvements and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards & maintain maintenance contracts
ü Plan, schedule, and coordinate general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling or construction projects and participate in the selection of contractors
ü Implement measures at facilities to include identifying vulnerable areas of building perimeters, HVAC equipment, utility services, communication equipment, and physical security measures as related to accessibility
ü Manage agency furniture assets and insurance requirements
ü Serve as primary liaison with building management for office rent and infrastructure issues
ü Safely manage and inspect over 50,000 sq ft of H-GAC occupied space to ensure it is safe and to determine whether repairs or maintenance are needed
ü Coordinates conference room set-up and audio/visual equipment for public meeting space
ü Manage agency security access control system
Print Shop:
ü Coordinate print jobs for 325 plus employees
ü Manage all operational leases for large-volume copiers and equipment
ü Maintain service records for all copiers in the agency
ü Track supply management for copying and printing
ü Work with departments on the layout and design of large print jobs
Shipping and Receiving:
ü Oversee all incoming and outgoing mail including tracking with date stamps or other appropriate means
ü Manage 5 different postage accounts for outgoing/incoming mail
ü Ensure all outgoing mail is properly weighted and stamped for delivery – USPS, FedEx, UPS
Other
ü Prepare logs for incoming checks
ü Enforce risk management and safety programs
ü Perform general administrative work as needed, including preparing reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering, and retrieving computer data, copying, and filing documents, sending, and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
ü Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff
ü Receive and/or review various records and reports including invoices, emails, memorandums, verbal requests, mechanical equipment reports, and service contracts
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü 5 years of facilities management experience within a local government or nonprofit program setting
Preferred Qualifications
ü 8 years of facilities management experience within a local government or nonprofit program setting
