What We Are Looking For:
Taylor International team is seeking a customer service-focused and experienced Superintendent who will lead their team through a period of high growth.
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and management of all construction activities on a project site. They ensure the project is executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
The Construction Superintendent also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Taylor International.
In this role you will:
- Collaborates with project managers and contractors to develop a detailed construction schedule, including milestones and deadlines.
- Oversees and manages all on-site construction activities, including subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and equipment usage.
- Ensures that all work on the construction site meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications and blueprints.
- Implements and enforces safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Monitors project costs and expenses, making adjustments as needed to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Ensures that the project stays on schedule and addresses any delays or issues promptly to prevent project setbacks.
- Maintains open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
- Identifies and resolves construction-related issues, conflicts, and obstacles that may arise during the project.
- Maintains accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Ensures that all necessary permits and regulatory requirements are met and maintained throughout the project.
- Manages labor resources effectively, training, and supervising construction personnel.
- Coordinates the procurement and delivery of construction materials and equipment as needed.
- Conducts inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship and construction meet or exceed industry standards.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What You Need:
- A bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent, preferably in a similar construction setting.
- Must have led/or managed projects with budgets in the 1.5 to 5 million range.
- Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting plans.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools. (Procore)
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
