- Salary: $118,000 - $150,000
Must-Haves:
- Graduate of a Program in Nursing at the Bachelor's of Science level or higher
- Certifications: BLS required upon hire
- Arizona Registered Nurse and/or Compact State Registered Nurse required
- Minimum of 2 years as Director of Case Management in a critical care hospital
Nice-to-Haves:
- CCM or ACM Certification preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years in Case Management leadership or leadership in critical care hospital upper management

Position Summary: The position provides ongoing support and expertise aligned with the strategic plan to Valley View Medical Center through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient needs. The goal is to enhance the quality of patient management and satisfaction, promote continuity of care, and cost-effectiveness through case management, utilization review, and discharge planning.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Implement the Patient Services Strategic Plan aligned with the hospital’s strategic plan. Improve the value (qualitative) of care and services.
- Leadership: Maintain personal development and provide management development and coaching for team members. Represent the hospital at state, local, and national levels through professional associations.
- Human Resource Management: Ensure adequate staffing, manage the development and assessment of departmental policies, and ensure staff competency through continuous education.
- Financial Management: Ensure financial accountability for annual budgets, monitor inventory, and develop methods for fiscal analysis.
- Performance Improvement/Safety: Continuously assess and improve care and services provided, ensure regulatory compliance, and support performance improvement activities.
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of a Program in Nursing at the Bachelor's of Science level or higher required
- Master’s degree preferred
- CCM or ACM Certification preferred
Required Skills:
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical ability for evaluating data and making recommendations
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years management experience
- Five years utilization review/case management experience in an acute short-term hospital
- Five years discharge planning experience in an acute short-term hospital
- Experience with Interqual or MCG criteria software, advanced computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Preferred experience with MedHost EMR and MorCare
Required Licenses:
- Current RN Licensure from the State of Arizona or a compact license accepted by the State of Arizona
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
