Duties:
- Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.
- Performs manual and automated routine blood tests.
- Prepares specimens for microscope examination.
- Operates state of the art laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field (biological or chemical sciences) is required.
- (Preferred) - Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- One to two years experience in a generalist role is preferred.
