PAY & BENEFITS
Our municipality offers a competitive pay scale that increases annually based on performance. The typical step range is Step 1 - $7712 to Step 5 - $9374. We also provide these fantastic benefits:

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS AN ENGINEER II

Professional Engineering Certification
-
Proficient in civil engineering, construction management, and contract administration

Strong expertise in site construction principles, practices, and materials

Skilled in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology

Experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, and pavement engineering and construction inspection

Familiarity with public right-of-way construction planning and management
-
Technical writing proficiency

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Ability to translate verbal communication into effective written reports

Capable of inspecting engineering projects for compliance and completeness

Knowledgeable in Federal, State, and local policies, laws, and regulations
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENGINEER
This full-time engineering role follows a consistent schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
As an Engineer with our municipality, you manage our TMDL program and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You prepare engineered plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for City infrastructure projects. As a project manager, you oversee these projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution. You assist in permitting right-of-way and public infrastructure improvements and coordinating with various departments and stakeholders. Regular meetings, site visits, and team collaboration are essential parts of your role, ensuring all projects meet the City's standards and timelines.
