About the Job – Preschool Teacher - This is an hourly, Full-Time or part time position (flexible hours, Monday-Friday).
We are looking for someone to join our Preschool Program with…
- 12 completed units in Early Childhood Education (Infant/toddler classes required) or 6 completed units in Early Childhood Education and currently enrolled in at least 2 semester units of Early Childhood Education courses.
In this position, the ideal candidate will –
- Create, plan and implement appropriate developmental experiences and curriculum for toddler-aged children.
- Partner with classroom staff to plan and implement the daily program of activities based on principles of child development and in accordance with the program’s curriculum.
- Work with multiple children independently and collaboratively with staff.
*Effectively build trusting relationships with parents as you partner with them in caring for their children.
*Ensure they understand the curriculum and find ways to involve parents in the daily program so learning can continue and flow between home and school.
- Be familiar with diverse cultures and open to a variety of parenting styles.
- Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
- Enjoy working collaboratively, as well as providing direction/guidance as needed to the co-Teacher on best practices for the classroom.
- Set-up and maintain a well-organized, clean, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
- Monitor the health and well-being of toddlers.
- Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the growth of their self-esteem and self-discipline.
- Ensure children are supervised at all times to maintain their safety and prevent accidents.
- Respond to students' diverse needs by using a variety of instructional strategies and resources.
- Assist with meals and snack times as assigned.
- Monitor and complete daily charting.
- Wash children's hands and faces as needed – especially after potty breaks, play times and meals.
- Assist children with toileting as needed.
- Possess excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.
- Be present at open houses.

Required Licensure/Certification – must be completed before or at time of hire:
- Current CPR and First Aid certificate.
- Successful criminal record and fingerprint clearance.
- Proof of good health as confirmed by a physician's statement, including proof of a negative TB test.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend and reach up to half of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.'
