Overview:
Our client, a medium-sized Center City Philadelphia law firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller/Accounting Manager to join their team. As a Controller/Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of their organization and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Provide technical accounting guidance to management
- Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor management and payment processing
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred)
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and practices
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Proficient in technical accounting research and application
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems, including SAGE 100
This position is a hybrid position including working three days in the office and two days working remote.
