Animal Hospital of Lawrence, an AAHA-accredited, small animal practice in the vibrant college town of Lawrence, Kansas, is seeking to add one full-time or part-time veterinarian to keep up with our continued growth. Our privately-owned practice has been in Lawrence for over 50 years. We have a loyal, well-established clientele locally and a number of clients who drive from 30-50 miles away, because they appreciate our friendly atmosphere and willingness to offer honest guidance and spectrum of care. Animal Hospital of Lawrence has been AHAA accredited for over 35 years offering the best medical practices w/ spectrum of care in mind. The position offers a 3-4 day work week, salary over 135k plus profit sharing (no production to worry about), 4 weeks paid time off, matching 401k retirement plan w/ free access to a financial advisor; paid dues and continuing education, health and dental care, no on-call commitment, and room to pursue your passion from surgery to dentistry, to medicine and alternative therapies. Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Perform routine check-ups, vaccinations, and surgeries
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure quality patient care
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and procedures
- Proficient in handling and restraining animals safely and effectively
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures
- Excellent understanding of veterinary terminology and medical conditions
- Ability to provide critical care to animals in emergency situations
- Knowledge of animal husbandry techniques for proper nutrition, breeding, and hygiene
- Experience in practice management, including client communication and record keeping
