Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator receives, unpacks, and examines incoming goods and verifies completeness of shipments against bills of lading and/or other records. Pack and ships outgoing merchandise and keeps records of shipments. This person reports directly to the Parts Department Manager and works closely with the department Lead.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the daily inventory transactions consisting of purchase order receiving, warehouse transferring, and parts order invoicing.
- Unload and check all received goods for quality, damage, and accuracy of load.
- Coordinate stock of replacement parts to be shipped by packing, completing associated paperwork, and arranging for shipping company to pick-up.
- Verify materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments or locations.
- Load finished product on flat bed using forklift and complete associated paperwork.
- Use our ERP system, Epicor, to book freight and keep track of orders and inventory.
- When needed, operate forklift in a safe manner and report all hazards associated with the equipment to the Safety and Maintenance Department.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate personal workflow.
- Assist other individuals in areas when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Forklift experience required.
- Computer literate.
- Excelled oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Outlook programs.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast pace environment.
- Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
