We are looking for part time LVN nurses who are caring, compassionate, and striving to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Experience/ Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
High School diploma
Successful completion of DOJ and FBI background check
Current Health Screening/ Physical with TB Clearance
Requires a minimum of one year experience working with adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in a residential setting preferred. Understanding, observation and recognition of symptoms and reactions requiring knowledge of cause and effect factors in dealing with persons with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
*Duties And Responsibilities
*
- Provide daily nursing services such as quality nursing care, individual counseling, medication support, and educational programs.
- Participate in updating of treatment plans, administer medications, and monitor interactions, side effects, etc., in consultation with Administrator, physicians, psychiatrists, and all other treatment staff.
- Chart and report any significant changes in condition and general progress of residents to Program Administrator, physicians and psychiatrists.
- Monitor all medications and sign and certify the accuracy of counts and inventory each day.
- Follow and adhere to all medication policies regarding dispensing, administration, record keeping, storage and accountability for inventory
- Facilitate an integrated, cohesive and supportive treatment approach and attitude. Act as a role model and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team with other staff.
- Assist residents in keeping their daily activity schedules in accordance with individual treatment plans.
- Possess a clinical understanding of and therapeutic relationship with clients to facilitate an integrated, cohesive, coordinated and supportive treatment approach..
- Participate in daily individual counseling to residents, medication support, education programs, and case management services for clients.
- Provide supervision of residents, have a working knowledge of, and provide crisis prevention and intervention for residents.
- Assure residents' safety at all times
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance, safety, and housekeeping of the facility.
- Complete appropriate orientation and on-the-job training to carry out facility’s residential services support and training plan and each individual resident’s needs and services and individual program plan.
- Complete DSP 1 within 6 months of hire.
- Complete training in the emergency procedures.

- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Administrator
