Missions Operations Engineer
NASA’s SAGE-III mission package was installed aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in early 2017 with the goal of helping to better understand and protect Earth’s atmosphere. This experienced team of engineers, scientists and analysts continue to provide outstanding science to the global atmospheric research community. You’ll learn a variety of skills such as spacecraft orbit modeling and prediction, remote operation of scientific space-flight hardware, remote sensing of Earth’s atmosphere with the occultation technique, and interface with ISS command and control.

As a member of the command and monitor group, you will develop, test, and send commands to the ISS to ensure the smooth, continuous operation of the payload instruments, monitor performance and provide secure, consistent download of data based on ISS scheduling requirements. Additional duties include but are not limited to trending analysis, software and hardware troubleshooting, and refinements in products disseminated to the SAGE III NASA stakeholders. Detailed training will be provided and initially paired with an experienced team member.
