- Underwrites and grows a profitable book of business based upon eligibility by review of the HNIC Risk Appetite Guide, loss analysis, exposure analysis, class code, and reinsurance acceptability.
- Review Due Diligence reports, Loss control surveys, loss runs, and timeliness of premium payments and take appropriate action when necessary. Collaborate with specialists such as premium auditors, claims adjusters, and loss control engineers for risk assessment.
- Manages and delegates regularly the activities of underwriting assistants including reaction time to compliance issues and requests from internal departments such as claims, loss control, Policy Issuance, and IT as well as external requests from Agents, Brokers, and Policyholders.
- Presents accounts to management for underwriting approval accompanied by the appropriate underwriting data and recommendations.
- Stays current with rules and regulations, market conditions, and corporate underwriting disciplines utilizing NCCI and State Insurance Department websites.
What You’ll Need
- This individual must be able to assess business opportunities with brokers and clients by understanding their problems and needs and offering viable solutions consistent with the companies' objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience with at least 3 years of Workers’ Compensation underwriting individual accounts.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Internet software and Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet software.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
