Currently expanding to meet construction demand, we are seeking an experienced carpenter to join our dedicated, accomplished team.
This job entails working in diverse settings to skillfully produce exceptional results. A carpenter is an individual with consistent dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of wood and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Understand customer requirements
· Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp project requirements
· Take accurate measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
· Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements
· Build staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
· Install window frames, doors, base and trim
· Lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
· Install furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items where designated
· Inspect properties and conduct repairs or maintenance
· Respond to change orders
· Perform other trades (light electrical, plumbing, tile and granite, etc.)
· Work with subcontractors
· Recommend job improvements, alternative methods, etc. (problem solve)
· Knowledge of building codes and regulations
· Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA)
· Knowledge of woods and their uses and adaptability
· Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry
Skills/Requirements
· Proven experience as carpenter
· Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
· Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
· Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
· Ability to read technical documents and drawings
· Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
· Good knowledge of English
· Good understanding of basic math
· Must have reliable vehicle, cell phone, and basic construction tools, along with clean driving record
