Amazing opportunity to work at a fully renovated luxury boutique pet resort. We believe in giving dogs a wonderful experience with room to play rather than packing a ton of dogs in with the possibility of more accidents and fights.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable dog daycare attendant to join and grow with us. This is a great opportunity to break into the professional dog industry and to learn a ton about dog psychology and behavior.
No formal experience is required, but you must be RELIABLE, comfortable working with dogs, getting dirty, cleaning, comfortable talking to clients and willing to take/follow instructions to learn on the job.
You must be comfortable working outside in the elements – snow, rain or shine!
Our daycare is an indoor-outdoor facility with an average of 30 dogs per day. Contrary to popular belief, you will not be "playing with puppies all day." It's harder, dirtier, and more involved than that.
You will be monitoring dog play and interactions to ensure safety and security. And you will be helping us keep the facility clean and sanitary, each and every day.
Typical duties include:
- Working with a team to provide constant supervision and monitoring of dogs at play
- Encouraging and reinforcing safe, positive behaviors and redirecting unsafe and/or rude behaviors
- Facilitating safe dog entries and exits between the lobby and the daycare facility
- Performing daily maintenance of the facility inside and out, including cleaning up accidents, vacuuming and mopping floors, changing soiled bedding, cleaning and sanitizing play rooms, washing dishes and dirty laundry, emptying garbage, dusting surfaces, and various other tasks.
- Scooping a whole lot of poop
- Communicating concerns about individual dog's behavior, safety, and overall well-being with teammates and management staff
- Presenting a professional, dedicated, and caring image to dog owners
- Rubbing bellies, scratching ears, stroking ears, gazing into dog's eyes, etc...
- Taking pics of dogs at play
Minimum Requirements:
- You must be at least 20 years of age
- You must have reliable transportation
- You must be comfortable working with all sizes/breeds of dogs
- You must be able to stand and move around for the bulk of your shift
- You must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
- You must be willing to clean, without complaint, on a daily basis
- You must not be afraid to get dirty while working indoors/outdoors, year round
- You must be nice to dogs and your co-workers
If you think you'd like this opportunity to amass a ridiculous amount of dog knowledge to impress your family and friends, please reply with:
- A resume detailing your previous work experience.
- A COVER LETTER including a few short sentences why you want to work with us.
- A list of 2-3 non-family references we can get in contact with.
