Child/Adolescent Therapist/LCSW/LMHC/Psychologist

Responsibilities:
- Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families as appropriate to the position; completes biopsychosocial assessment and diagnostic impression.
- Collaboratively prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care recommendations; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and urgent services as required.
- Will be trained in DBT Therapy (if necessary) and participate in the DBT program for children, adolescents, and families
- Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists.
- Consults with mental health and medical staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
- Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious Mental Health/Substance Abuse problems.
- Refers clients to appropriate social service agencies for financial assistance and other required services.
- Provides ongoing assessment of each patient or client to determine reliability of treatment used; utilizes assessment tools to measure change, and implements appropriate treatment modifications when clinically indicated.
- Provide individual and group therapy for children/adolescents and/or parents/caregivers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling or social Work
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) or Psychologist or equivalent licensure pending, as documented by temporary license preferred.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and their application to protect the privacy of the patient or client.
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
- Ability to review psychological testing reports and recommendations to inform care.
- Competence in preparing and maintaining patient records.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Clinical experience working with children, adolescents and families REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of community mental health resources and willingness to reach out to existing resources to meet the needs of patient or client and families.
- Bilingual/Trilingual (ENG/SPANISH/PORTUGUESE) Preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and present cases in clinical rounds.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and their application.
- Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic interventions and to make individual modifications when clinically indicated.
- Willingness to be DBT-trained, participate in the DBT program and offer other trauma-informed evidence-based practices.
