Position Title: Coordinator, Women United
Reports To: Senior Manager, Women United & Donor Engagement

Purpose of Position:
The Coordinator partners with local donors to raise funds for United Way of Lake County (UWLC) programs and initiatives. Deepens donor relationships with UWLC and Women United (WU) by supporting volunteer events, meetings and activities. Develops and enhances new and existing relationships with internal and external donors and provides value to the WU community impact initiatives. Assists with Resource Development (RD) responsibilities as needed.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Perform WU administrative tasks, including updating and recording WU ongoings in UWLC’s member management software.
- Develop relationships with WU members, including initiating specific touchpoints, sending personal thank you notes, personally welcoming new members and following up with those who have left WU.
- Assist with planning and logistics of meetings and events, including meeting agenda and material and development, identifying location, and arranging food, beverage, etc.
- Plan and execute one WU philanthropic event with a goal of raising $15,000. Lead volunteer committee(s) that support planning, logistics and day of needs.
- Participate and oversee WU community volunteer experiences, including the Early Learning Club.
- Work to ensure an exceptional member experience to increase donor relationships.
- Record donor communications and member updates accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Operate as an active member of the RD team.
- Support RD volunteer and corporate outreach initiatives.
- Maintain a visible profile in the community by developing relationships with organizations that will further promote and enhance UWLC and WU.
- Participate in external (chambers of commerce, non-profit events, etc.) and internal UWLC events and activities.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in fundraising, sales, education, event planning, community engagement, and/or public relations/customer services.
- Non-profit experience desired.
- Demonstrated success with effective listening skills.
- Self-starter, motivated individual who can deliver on goals independently and as a part of the team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while working well with a variety of different personalities and work styles.
- Proficient in creating presentations and effective in communicating one-on-one, in a team and publicly.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with an ability to relate with a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner.
- High-energy individual who takes initiative with a positive outlook and can manage ambiguity and change.
- Creative and energetic individual who functions well within a fast-paced team environment and works collaboratively within the team and across all departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a territory, persuade others and close fundraising opportunities (make the ask).
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook applications.
- Must be available to meet with donors and prospects according to their schedule, including in the early morning, evenings and occasionally on the weekend.
- Fluent in Spanish desired.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, drive/operate a car, lift and carry bags and boxes of approximately 10 pounds; talk or hear, read, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, stoop, kneel, or crouch, type, operate a computer, calculator, copy machine and postage meter.
Must be able to provide own transportation to attend meetings at various locations throughout Lake County. In accordance, must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

- Weekends as needed
