Presentation Products, Inc. is a New York City-based AV Design & Integration company looking for a Senior AV Service Engineer for one of our premier clients in NYC Hudson Yards.
This Managed Services Engineer is a multi-faceted technical expert, with strong client-facing and hospitality skills, and an understanding of event planning and production. They are the “face of PPI” and have both excellent customer service skills and a strong technical aptitude. This position will be dedicated to a single client and serve as an extension of their AV/IT team and of PPI, helping keep open channels of communication between the customer, PPI engineers, design consultants, and other teams. They will also provide Preventative Maintenance, Meeting & Event Support, and Client Training to our partner across multiple floors and space types in their environment.

Compensation: $50-$55 per hour
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide concierge, white-glove AV service and support for one of PPI’s premier clients.
- Daily operation and upkeep of the site’s integrated AV systems (including DSPs, control processors, touch-panels, VTC codecs, large format display, distributed audio, and digital signage systems).
- End-to-end troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues related to the site's AV system as required. Strive to identify and remediate the root cause of any issues, especially those that may be recurring, and focus on remote-first resolution whenever possible.
- Work with the client's technology stakeholders to develop and institute a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan based on manufacturer recommendations and industry best-practice.
- Setup, planning, operation and support of customer meetings or events that involve AV, including those that may occur outside of regular business hours.
- Coordinate maintenance windows and ensure systems are on the appropriate levels of firmware/software and configured optimally. Work with the PPI Service team to ensure equipment is functional, including replacing and initiating RMA service as needed.
- Respond with urgency and expertise to client requests and AV Network Operations Center (AV NOC) alerts.
- Continuously provide end user training and feature awareness.
- Additional responsibilities relevant to this role as defined by the customer and/or PPI.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Expert level AV engineer.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable interfacing with a customer at all levels of their organization.
- Experience performing each of the job responsibilities outlined above in a relevant industry.
- Strong desire to develop and improve technical skills.
- Experience with the full array of integrated AV solutions, including Crestron, Q-SYS, and Biamp.
- Experience with cloud-based service providers and virtual meetings (i.e., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Experience with Cisco Codec Plus/Pro and Zoom Conference Room Connector.
- Experience with monitoring & remote management services.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside of traditional business hours and respond to urgent situations when they occur.
- Willingness to travel (up to 15%).
- Literacy in Windows and Mac operating systems with a strong understanding of Networking fundamentals.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently with guidance from your supervisor and team.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure yet act with a sense of urgency.
- Must possess strong organizational, efficiency and detail-oriented skill sets.
- Professional presentation and demeanor.
- CTS certification (PPI will sponsor study materials and exam fees for otherwise-qualified candidates who do not yet possess their CTS).
- Other desirable vendor certifications include Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Dante and CompTIA.
