Quality Specialist
The Quality Specialist will work closely with the Powder Quality Manager to ensure efficacy of the Food Safety and Quality Management systems for production of 10 million pounds of daily milk receipts and provides safety and quality assurance guidance with microbiological testing/analysis, HACCP, GMP’s, GFSI, USDA, FDA and State regulatory requirements. This individual will periodically partner with the Sanitation Supervisor, Compliance Specialist, and/or Operations to complete QA continuous improvement projects.

Job Description (Daily Tasks)
The Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing completion of routine monitoring assignments and project work related to powdered and fluid milk product quality and food safety.
Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Procedures, Sanitation, and Environmental Hygiene procedures.
Assist with data collection, preparation, and analysis for food safety and quality projects.
Write instructions and provide training to other team members.
Liaison with regulatory officials as needed in sampling or observation.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Computer knowledge including Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Capable of using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in the food industry
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge of sanitary techniques for micro sampling
Knowledge of laboratory techniques for product testing
Experience with HACCP or Food Safety Programs
Associates degree or higher highly preferred
Dairy Manufacturing experience highly preferred
Knowledge or experience with QA investigations preferred
Core Hours: 1st Shift (7AM-4:30 PM) – This role may require off shift hours, weekends and Holidays as needed. This is a 24/7/365 facility.
Compensation Range: $67,000-92,000 depending on experience
