Residential Renovation Specialist
Department: Maintenance
FLSA/Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly (Full-Time)
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Pay Rate: $22.00 to $25.00/hr, dependent on experience and other factors
Summary:
The Residential Renovation Specialist is responsible for renovation / remodeling work in homes and suites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Completing change orders for new resident move ins.
- Perform basic electrical installs of outlets, switches, and lighting.
- Perform plumbing installs of sinks, faucets, garbage disposals, and waste drains.
- Minor drywall and plaster repairs.
- Carpentry work including installation of finish trim, doors, and cabinets.
- Completes all special assignments/projects as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Assists with resident relation program; handle all resident concerns promptly.
- Keep the Maintenance Supervisor informed of all resident issues.
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Some college or technical preparation preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in remodeling with an emphasis on carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Knowledge of remodeling of residential spaces.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a clean MVR (moving vehicle record).
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for 6-7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
- Must have the ability to occasionally climb stairs, stools, and ladders.
- Must have the ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
- Must have the ability to reach in front, sides and overhead.
- Must have the ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds while walking or bending at the waist and knees.
- Must have the ability to frequently push, pull, or move carts and equipment exerting a force of 50 to 75 pounds.
- Must have the ability to use wrists, fingers, and hands for repetitive firm grasping and usage of hand tools.
Other federally regulated requirements:
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
- Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine, and TB testing
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, to include cannabis.
- Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
