Medical Secretary/Records Technician
Our growing practice needs a motivated and reliable professional, you’ll be handling a lot of the important work that goes on to set our doctors and patients up for success. You'll have the ability to develop your skills through on-site training, continued education, and with each patient interaction. This position offers you an opportunity for stability with a career in healthcare. Prior photography experience can be an added plus for any interested applicant.
NO Experience Needed:
Prior medical office or dental/orthodontic experience is a plus, but it’s certainly not required. We use OrthoFi and Tops Ortho software and welcome those with experience to apply!
Some of your duties:
- Be one of the first impression for our patients and families in the office
- Responsible for taking intraoral records photos, CBCT scans, and panos for all new and returning patients in the office
- Reviewing x-ray machines for maintenance, running tests, and calibrating the machines,
- Reviewing and organizing patient orthodontic charts for accuracy and authenticity, new patient coordination (intake evaluations, forms, insurance verification), preauthorizations
- Patiently and professionally working with each patient to get the perfect pictures and dental impressions.
- Educating patients on follow-up care, appointments, and treatments; sterilization of equipment and restocking of common areas as needed
- Consistent and prompt follow-up with patients via phone call, email, or text message to answer questions.
- Consistent cross-training for optimal career growth
- Understanding and respecting patient privacy laws
This is a great stepping-stone role into the world of orthodontics/dentistry. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, and responsible, wants to have hands-on experience working with patients, is OK with being in the mouth (taking photos, using cheek retractors, directing patients on how to stand and move).
- You are comfortable with technology and open to learning new applications and software; you’ll harness the tools around you to make your job as easy or effortless as possible.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are a MUST, while being able to maintain a caring and professional demeanor.
- You are attentive, detail-oriented, organized, and your work reflects all of these characteristics.
