RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Safe Transportation: Safely operate a bus, following designated routes and schedules, while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulation. Ensuring the safety of students during transit.
2. Passenger Assistance: Assist students in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring they follow safety procedures such as using handrails. Provide support to students with special needs or mobility challenges as required.
3. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in proper working condition. Report any mechanical issues to maintenance needs promptly to maintenance personnel.
4. Emergency Procedures: Be familiar with emergency procedures and protocols, including evacuation drills and response to emergencies such as accidents or inclement weather.
5. Communication: Maintain professional communication with students, parents, college staff, and transportation officials. Report any behavioral issues, incidents, or concerns to appropriate college personnel.
6. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of daily routes, mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts. Complete required paperwork, such as incident reports and maintenance logs in a timely manner.
7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and College staff. Foster a positive and respectful environment on the bus, enforcing safety rules and addressing any misconduct.
8. Professionalism: Uphold professional standards of conduct and appearance at all times. Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
