Role Summary
Newly created due to growth, we are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to come and join our Sport and Leisure division within the United States.
Role Accountabilities
- Triage new business submissions for clearance and assess for completeness before underwriting review.
- Communicate directly with agents and brokers to collect outstanding underwriting information.
- Apply knowledge of the line of business-specific product underwriting rules and guidelines for pre-quote underwriting support and post-bind processing.
- Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of tasks owned by Underwriters and Brokers.
- Work within our web-based policy management system to issue policies, endorsements, and invoices within established SLAs.
- Follow-up on outstanding subjectivities needed for policy issuance, premium collection, and/or underwriting file documentation.
- Maintain current, complete, and accurate underwriting files according to internal standards and guidelines.
- Exhibit a customer service mindset by proactively engaging with internal and external clients; and promptly responding to all phone calls and/or emails.
- Participate in user acceptance testing for system development and/or updates.
- Proactively monitor administrative and underwriting workflow and notify management if any business risks develop, or risk events occur.
Role Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Sport and Leisure Underwriting support.
- Prior experience with the issuance of Sport and Leisure insurance policy forms.
- Prior experience with premium coding, billing, invoicing, and collections.
- Prior experience with policy servicing.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance issues.
Skills and Abilities
