Opening due to Retirement! The Warehouse Manager for this local manufacturing company will be responsible for overseeing 70K sf of warehouse space, the warehouse staff, managing inventory, arranging shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role ensures that all warehouse operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management:
o Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse production staff.
o Schedule and allocate work shifts, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
o Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
o Address and resolve employee issues and conflicts in a timely manner.
2. Inventory Management:
o Monitor and work with team to maintain inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
o Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and discrepancies.
o Work with team to conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records and meet annual audit requirements.
3. Shipment Coordination:
o Plan and arrange shipments to meet customer delivery requirements.
o Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
o Oversee the staging, loading and unloading of goods, while ensuring proper handling and storage.
o Track and monitor shipment status, resolving any issues that arise during transit.
4. Documentation Management:
o Oversee and be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all warehouse activities, including receipts, shipments, and inventory transactions.
o Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company documentation requirements.
o Prepare and submit necessary reports to management and other departments.
o Maintain an organized filing system for all warehouse documents.
5. Safety and Compliance:
o Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA standards.
o Provide training and guidance to staff on safety practices and protocols.
6. Operational Efficiency:
o Develop and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
o Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve overall business performance.
o Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP, and other technologies to optimize operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities, proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting/moving heavy items, and operating warehouse equipment.
Hours 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
