Dorsey & Whitney Trust Company LLC is seeking a full-time accounting professional for its Sioux Falls office reporting to its Chief Financial Officer. Our operations team constantly communicates and efficiently allocates and manages tasks for the goal of client satisfaction. Candidates must be able to: organize and prioritize projects to maximize results within time constraints, and cooperatively and respectfully interact with other staff members. Ideally, the candidate will have the confidence to work independently, but will also have the wisdom to ask for help when needed. Candidates must have strong accounting, analytical and organizational skills in order to prioritize and execute multiple tasks timely and accurately in the face of frequent interruptions.
Responsibilities for this role include –
- Develop and maintain detailed working knowledge of trust accounting system and operations support provided by third party vendor.
- Process daily transaction accounting requests accurately and with a sense of urgency. These requests include asset receipts and deliveries, account-to-account transfers, asset re-registration, income receipts, and distributions to or on behalf of trust beneficiaries and all related actions.
- Review and reconcilement of accounts, ledgers and reports for accuracy; research of discrepancies and timely initiation of corrections or adjustments.
- General accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
Strong desire to pursue advancement through additional education and/or professional certifications, including an interest in obtaining the CPA designation, is preferred.
Desired: Experience with Windows Operating System, Word, Excel, Microsoft 365 and SEI Wealth Platform.
Hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
