SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and is responsible for monitoring the physical health of persons served and providing nursing services that address the Talbot Health Services mission and are provided in a manner consistent with the organizations vision and values. This is an hourly position with hours and schedule established to complete the required duties. This position is not exempt from wage and hour regulations as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and is therefore granted protections under the Wage and Hour Division of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This position is for RN at Talbot clinical services in TOLEDO, Ohio.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION
Required
- Active RN license issued by the state of Ohio
- Two years of nursing experience
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Experience in a psychiatric or substance use treatment setting
- CPR/First Aid/AED Training
- Crisis Prevention/De-escalation Training
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. In collaboration with the team, ensure a comprehensive health history is obtained and appropriate referrals are made, as needed, for further assessment and treatment.
2. Provide education to patients, family members of patients and other staff members regarding medication, symptom management, wellness, and health.
3. Provide ongoing assessment of patient’s mental illness or substance use and physical symptoms as well as their response to treatment; communicate these changes to the treatment team and make appropriate changes in treatment plans to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided.
4. Review health history questionnaires and follow up with clients as appropriate.
5. Provide direct clinical services to clients to monitor symptoms, carry out prescriber orders and teach behavioral symptom-management techniques to alleviate and manage symptoms.
6. Witness urine screens and process appropriately.
7. Perform duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics and standards and established agency policies.
8. Comply with all state and federal laws regarding the protection of protected health information. 9. Maintain complete and current medical records regarding all persons served.
