What are the working hours of 3rd/2nd shift?
● 2nd/3rd Shift: Tuesday through Saturday 5:00pm to 1:30am (8 hour shift, 30 mins lunch)
● Overtime will be required
What do we do in our optical labs?
● Create beautiful prescription eyewear in a production environment to help achieve our mission of improving lives by improving sight. Each pair of eyeglasses we make go to our valuable accounts and will be worn by people eagerly awaiting their new pair of glasses.
What will I be doing?
● Inspects and repairs production and support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum technologies
● Interacts daily with manufacturing and quality employees to ensure the site's goals and objectives are effectively supported
● Maintains appropriate preventative maintenance and repair logs
● Troubleshoots and provides daily support of multiple product families with specific regard to machine support, product quality, product cost, process improvements and safety
● Conducts root cause analysis for machine outages or production performance issues
● Participates in cross functional teams to accomplish project specific goals
● Ensures efficient product processing while maintaining established quality/cost/safety standards
● Responsible for performing routine cleaning of floor drains in the lab production area
● Communicates with Supervisor regarding issues or problems
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Equipment Maintenance Technician opportunity, you will have:
● 2-3 years of maintenance experience in production environments. Experience with optical processing equipment is a plus
● Basic skills in both mechanical and electrical problem-solving
● Excellent organizational abilities
● Attention to detail
● Good communication skills
● Knowledge of optical industry preferred
● 2+ years of experience in troubleshooting of Computers, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Industrial systems preferred
● Able to define Preventative Maintenance procedures and review/maintain spare parts for the equipment
● Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams preferred
● Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
● Perform under minimal supervision
