Join Our Team as a Senior Direct Support Professional- Adult Disability Services
Mission of the Position:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities? We're seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to lead our team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). As a Senior Direct Support Professional, you will provide leadership, mentorship, and hands-on assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them with daily living skills, personal hygiene, and social integration within a community-based residential program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Residential Direct Support Professionals to ensure individuals receive comprehensive support in daily living activities, personal hygiene, and community interactions.
- Plan and implement activities tailored to individual needs and preferences, including meal planning and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records, including individual client records, financial documentation, and incident reports.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for daily communications and routine operations within the home.
- Facilitate effective communication among staff members and ensure adherence to protocols and policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of staff documentation and provide training as needed to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment within the group home, meeting regulatory expectations at all times.
- Respond to incidents and allegations of abuse or neglect promptly and in accordance with established procedures.
- Interact with individuals, family members, and stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner, representing our organization positively.
- Maintain necessary certifications, including CPR/First Aid, Medication Assistance, and others as required.
Qualifications:
Qualified Developmental Disability Professional eligibility is preferred.
(3) Three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
(3) Three years supervisory experience preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer operations.
Ability to handle stressful situations and act quickly in emergencies.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong mathematical skills.
Willingness to accept feedback and supervision.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR/First Aid certification.
Positive Behavioral Supports/TOVA certification.
Medicaid Waiver certification.
Proof of auto insurance.
Satisfactory Tuberculosis Screening.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to assist with lifting individuals with caution and care.
Work Environment:
Exposure to communicable diseases may occur.
Flexibility to work at various facilities and extended hours as needed.
May encounter traumatic situations, including psychiatric emergencies.
