Gas Turbine Performance Engineer (Performance, Controls & Accessories Group)

Vericor is dedicated to providing quality, cost-effective solutions and services for all our customers – from the US and foreign Naval forces to power generation and oil & gas providers. As the Gas Turbine Performance Engineer, you will be an instrumental part of the Engineering organization, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. The position will be located out of the Vericor Offices in Greer, SC.
What You Will Do | Overview and Key Responsibilities:
This role will work to:

Responsible for gas turbine performance tools and analysis, including engine performance predictions, customer proposals, and trend analysis of fleet operation.

Introduce/upgrade existing tools for performance calculations

Ability to work hands-on in the test cell, diagnosing engine behavior and analyzing trends

Mentor more junior Performance Engineers

What You Need To Succeed | Interests and Qualifications:

BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

5+ years of experience with Gas Turbine Performance
-
Experience with gas turbine performance analysis, including modeling, stationary and transient analysis, engine diagnostics, and test cell operations, is desired
-
Firm understanding of Gas Turbine Principles and Thermodynamics

Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, NPSS, Gas Turb, and/or other Gas Turbine Performance tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, organization skills, and time-management skills.

Per US Export Control requirements, US Citizenship or permanent resident status is required
