Job Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, directs and coordinates activities of the maintenance department to maintain and repair systems for our manufacturing facility, directly or indirectly through maintenance personnel and process. This is a hands-on, working Supervisor role.
Essential Functions
- Directs maintenance personnel to improve the effectiveness of maintenance services to achieve continuous improvement in plant reliability and operating results.
- Supervises maintenance facilities staff and external contractors.
- Ensures operational efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment through timely inspection and repair.
- Prioritizes and carries our major repair needs.
- Participates in and directs preventative maintenance program.
- Responds to safety concerns in a timely manner. Demonstrates service orientation to Production, R&D, QA, and others while maintaining spending within budget.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for building shop safety, machine safety, and tool utilization and storage.
- Plans and coordinates all installations and refurbishments.
- Trains employees of the maintenance department when needed.
- Documents and prepares daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Oversees equipment stock and places orders for new supplies when necessary.
- Creates and implements maintenance procedures.
- Effectively manages capital and expense spending for the maintenance department, develops annual budget, to seek improvement in efficiency and results.
- Reviews utilities consumption and strives to minimize costs.
- Knowledge of all plant systems and equipment applied to maintenance activity and problem-solving efforts. Complete understanding of maintenance management function and the ability to apply technology and management systems effectively in maintaining plant assets and directing resources and personnel.
- All employees, including all levels of management, are held accountable for following all food safety policies and procedures: GMPs, Allergen Control, Foreign Material control, and Cross Contamination Procedures

Competencies
Working knowledge of industrial cooling/freezing systems: Freon, Nitrogen
Reads and understands blueprints and schematics
· Computer skills and Microsoft suite proficiency. Proficiency with a CMMS program.

Education and Experience
· Associates degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
· 5 years of direct maintenance supervisor experience with 5 or more direct reports, preferably in a food manufacturing environment; 10 years or more of direct management experience in lieu of formal education may be considered
· 3+ years of formal management experience
· Compliance with OSHA programs specific to the Maintenance Department
Preferred Experience
· 8 years of Industrial Maintenance in a food manufacturing environment
· Bilingual a plus (Spanish or Vietnamese)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Protective gear such as gloves, steel toe work boots, and smocks required at all times
- Will work around moving machinery; walking on wet floors
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required
- Regularly required to walk, reach, bend and lift for long periods of time throughout the day
- Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs
- Cold environment (34-36 degrees)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
