District IT Support Technician & Network Manager

Title & Description:
· District IT Support Technician & Network Manager
· This position is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning immediately with renewal in July for upcoming 24-25 FY.

Reports To:
The District IT Technician & Network Manager will directly report to the District Superintendent and Building Principals when working in their building. This position also works closely with the Business Manager to assure adequate funding for necessary projects and materials/equipment needed. All purchase orders shall be placed through AptaFund and approved. Purchasing and budget management for the IT department is overseen by the Business Manager and Superintendent.
Job Overview:
The District IT Technician & Network Manager will provide school level technology support district wide to include West End Schools P-K12, and the Transportation/Maintenance building. Your primary functions are to serve a as a liaison between school staff, students, administration and technology resources provided by the District as well as the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing/troubleshooting, modification, maintaining and management of the District wide area IT systems, programs, networks, and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· To design, install, develop, maintain, analyze, and manage building computers and computer network systems.
· To provide the District administrative and business offices through analysis of the computer systems with technical support for the accounting/management computer software programs which run on it. This also includes weekly/monthly backups, etc.
· To document and provide support to all IT system problems and issues that arise, and make modifications to ensure the continued smooth operation of the systems. May do minor repairs if needed.
· To assist all staff, students, and administrators with any and all computer/software systems and networks, internet applications, and software applications.
· To assist all staff, students, and administrators with the operation and management of District equipment that may include: fax machines, phone systems, copy/printer machines, TV’s, projectors, Chromebooks, laptops, District issued cell phones, and any other District issued devices used. Will also keep inventory on such equipment and devices.
· To assist media assistants and teachers integrate computer skills into curriculum, and to help them obtain, learn, and use computer instructional materials to improve their instruction effectiveness.
· To assure that all IT systems are working on a daily basis by routinely testing, analyzing, and solving issues that arise efficiently and keep record of such.
· To work closely with Business Manager and/or Superintendent with purchasing equipment, materials, and any other products the District may need.
· To maintain all District wide software and/or product licenses.
· To record and document all hardware through the library inventory program.
· To assist all staff and administrators with set up and take down of IT equipment for in-services, special demonstrations, board meetings, and any other meetings, conferences, etc. as needed.
· To assist District maintenance workers with installation of network wiring, etc.
· To design, install, manage, and maintain District network hardware, file servers, routers, concentrators, network software, network cards, and other computer hardware and software related to networking.
· To work with internet suppliers to determine and assign network addresses and accounts.
· To work with Business Manager in assigning all staff members with a District wide personal email account, and to manage and terminate these accounts as needed.
· To design, develop, install, maintain, and manage all District network security systems and maintain licensure regarding software programs, computer technology security systems, etc.
· Assist Media assistants, Secretaries, Administrators, and Business Manager in developing network maintenance and procedures.
· To provide network system maintenance and repairs. If you cannot repair yourself, arrange for the appropriate vendor to repair and/or replace upon District level approval from the Business Manager and Superintendent.
· Programming and repair of windows based computers.
· Programming and repair of Apple devices
· Programming and repair of Silox/Pinnacle based card access system
· Programming and repair of Network devices including printers, computers, lighting,
and online building systems. Also the ability to Patch and configure network ports.
· Knowledge and use of Meraki Networking systems.
· Knowledge of Bosch camera systems and security.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· An AA degree from an accredited technical college or its equivalent in working experience.
Working Conditions:
Standard School environment; work closely with students, staff, outside vendors, etc. General good physical condition necessary to perform the duties of the job.
