TX Professional Engineer, Structural / Framing Engineering Position
Norex Engineering is seeking an engineer with experience in single and multi-family residential and light commercial wood-frame structural engineering.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform and review wood and steel design for structural components for single and multi-family residential and light commercial structures.
Perform and review wood and steel design calculations for single and multi-family residential and light commercial structures.
Perform and review design and reinforced concrete calculations for residential and commercial foundations, retaining walls, bulkheads, etc.
Perform the application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads and overall design integrity
Prepare technical specifications for structural materials
Perform on-site investigations and prepare engineering studies and designs for new and forensic single and multi-family residential, and light commercial structures.
Perform review of work performed by others including design, calculations, and engineering studies
Coordinate with clients, engineers, and support staff in producing quality designs and meeting production goals.
Monitor current design codes and standards and updates for providing technical guidance to engineers and support staff
Qualifications/Certifications:
Proficiency in analytical software: AutoCAD, MathCad, WoodWorks, RISA, etc.
Strong knowledge of design codes and standards including IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC and ACI
Experience in producing support documentation for structural engineering designs and calculations
Strong communication and interaction skills with clients, engineers and support staff
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture or Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering from ABET accredited university.
2-5 years experience in residential and/or commercial structural engineering
Valued but not required:
Experience with High Wind Resistance engineering for wood frame structures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
