IC3 AEGIS Security & Privacy team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer. This candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, and experienced in privacy aspects. This role is essential in building tools, processes, automation, and engineering infrastructure that empower IC3 developers worldwide to create secure and compliant services trusted by both consumers and highly-regulated enterprises.
Our mission is to achieve "zero-click compliance" by automatically and continuously identifying and remediating compliance and privacy issues on behalf of service owners. We also strive to provide transparent data to service owners, privacy teams, and leadership on the state of our Azure services to minimize business risk.
As a member of the IC3 AEGIS Security & Privacy team, you will be at the forefront of cross-organizational initiatives to ensure that IC3 products are consistently compliant with our privacy commitments to customers. You will drive innovation in tooling, implement automation, and leverage advanced AI solutions to improve the privacy posture of IC3 products. You will have the opportunity to dive deep into the services and client stack of IC3 products to identify opportunities to close privacy gaps, work closely with other M365 products to build tools that help identify privacy leak patterns across different phases of software development, and influence the IC3 Engineering organization to develop a privacy mindset.

Evaluate and integrate industry-wide compliant privacy solutions into IC3 services and clients.

Evaluate and integrate organization-wide solutions to enhance privacy detection, response, and resolution strategies.

Explore and apply progressive AI techniques to improve privacy evaluation processes.

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of various capabilities with a focus on quality, scale, and sustainable development practices.

Stay current with emerging privacy trends and evangelize them within the IC3 engineering organization.

Collaborate across stakeholders providing leadership and mentoring.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process automation and optimization.

Manage stakeholders while prioritizing work for your team through collaboration with partner teams.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.

1+ years of experience as a tech lead or mentoring other engineers.

10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
