Education: Associate degree in Nursing and licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.

Position summary: The Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the care and management of psychiatric and behavioral health patients by providing nursing assistance and nursing services per the Board of Nursing guidelines. This position monitors psychiatric symptoms, screens for medical issues and provides coordination with medical providers. The LPN will perform clinical care, and documentation of care, treatment, medication and patient teaching in accordance with Nursing Standards. Must be available for on-call crisis rotation on an as needed basis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Understanding of nursing standards and ability to work with individuals in the community that are not in a clinical setting and provide medication education to members. Understanding of nursing principles, medication storage, HIPAA standards and medical service coordination. Ability to work with members who have mental illness that may require frequent redirection. Ability to document clearly, concisely, and timely all required documentation. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively. Travel Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and insurance required. Travel will vary depending on the daily schedule for this position. All travel is in the community where the members live and work.
